What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT) works on the foundational skills the individual needs to participate, engage, and perform activities that ‘occupy’ that person’s time.

Sensory Integration OT

We use Sensory Integration Approach when working with our clients.

Children, Teens, and Adult occupations include

but not limited to:

Self Regulation

Does your loved one seem to have a shorter attention span? Always on the go? Can’t sit still?

Social Skills

Turn-taking, flexibility, sharing ideas, eye contact, jumping into peers existing play schemes, making and keeping friends, decreasing aggression and other maladaptive behaviors

Fine Motor Skills

The coordination of smaller more refined hand movements like handwriting, using utensils, scissors, efficiency in arts/crafts, opening or closing fasteners and containers, and typing are some everyday fine motor skills we need.

Gross Motor Skills

Balance, timing, postural stability, strength, and coordination. Forgetting a step or sequence? Figuring out how to come up with an idea (ideation), and then execution and adjustments of multi-step activities is known as motor planning.

Activities of Daily Living

Dressing and feeding oneself, hygiene and grooming, toileting, bathing are all examples of ADLs. Is falling and staying asleep difficult?
